Job shadowing activity: The third job-shadowing was completed
Teachers Antonella Anastasio and Beatrice Arpino from Istituto Superiore Marini Gioia in Amalfi, Italy, spent a week participating in job shadowing activities hosted by the teachers and staff of SUGS Rade Jovchevski Korchagin, Skopje, Republic of North Macedonia. During their stay, they had the opportunity to observe classes, follow the teaching process, and explore the school's facilities and the daily activities of students.
Beatrice Arpino described the experience as “enriching,” noting that she gained “valuable insights into different teaching methodologies and educational practices.” Similarly, Antonella Anastasio emphasized how the job-shadowing allowed her to “exchange ideas with professionals from various backgrounds,” which she found instrumental in enhancing her skills and broadening her perspectives.
The week was structured into five days, from September 9th to 13th, each with a unique schedule and focus. The beginning of the week was dedicated to in-school activities, including classroom observations of various subjects, presentations showcasing student and teacher initiatives, and cultural activities aimed at exploring history, geography, and the environment.
Later in the week, the teachers engaged in social outreach with various companies, partners, and collaborators. The first visit was to the office of the STRET.T.2 partner ARNO, which provided a valuable opportunity for team discussions on project progress. The day continued with a visit to the Junior Achievement offices in Skopje and concluded with a trip to Pivara, Skopje, a long-time friend of Korchagin. Here, the teachers and students participated in a personal development training session.
Reflecting on the week, Antonella expressed her excitement for future opportunities, saying, “I look forward to doing it again,” showcasing how impactful the exchange was for both participants.
